Charming, sweet and sensual

Mitch Stewart learned well from his father, about honour, respect and taking care of his family. He's extremely successful in business as the President of an investment firm which leaves little time for relaxation so he decides to get a pet fish which he names Kamikaze. For Mitch, meeting the owner of the pet shop is quite an experience and the attraction between is immediate. He soon learns that being a pet owner has it challenges as the fish won't stay in his bowl, so he finds the business card and calls the owner Vanessa requesting a house call.

Vanessa Craig is sweet, lovely and has two problems. The day that Mitch Stuart entered her pet shop she had never seen a man quite like him and even though she's attracted to him, she immediately knows that he is out of her league. She has a lot on her mind, she is in desperate need of a business loan or she'll loose her shop. When Mitch calls her to make a house call because his fish keeps leaping out of its bowl, she obliges him and then things change for several reasons. Vanessa shares her personal financial information and a kiss which should have not happened. Their attraction for each other is breathtaking and even though they both fight it life becomes very complicated. It becomes complicated for several reasons as Mitch steps in with a personal loan & it hurts Vanessa in the end when she learns the truth. On top of everything, she meets his mother who definitely does not approve of her and she falls head over heels for Mitch. As far as his feelings everything he does, it's for Vanessa....the loan and he also faces the possibility of loosing a promised promotion.

Robyn Grady has written one of the sweetest and romantic love story in Naughty Nights in the Millionaire's Mansion. Both characters had so much depth and so much love to give each other you won't want to miss out on reading Vanessa and Mitch's story. Their journey is not only sweet due to Mitch's constant attention and belief in Vanessa; it's basically prince charming coming to the rescue. Vanessa's determination to walk away because she knew she wouldn't fit in with his lifestyle, pure sacrifice for the man she adored.

NOT THE RIGHT COVER

I just reviewed this volume -- READER'S DIGEST CONDENSED BOOKS VOL. 1: 1957 but it doesn't have cardinals on the cover. The version I reviewed is pictured with a dust jacket, and also with its boards, which are a bull's eye/chevron type graphic. (However, the books listed in the product info are correct.)

Short version: I was not impressed. I thought most of the entries were the less-than-best although from good authors, and the abridgements ("condensations") generally didn't help.

If you're "kicking tires" with some of these old READER'S DIGEST CONDENSED BOOKS from the Fifties and Sixties, I think you'll find far better volumes. Here are some that I have already found and liked very much, along with a partial list of the books in them:

Vol. 2, 1954 (THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER, GOD AND MY COUNTRY [Disney's FOLLOW ME, BOYS], NOT AS A STRANGER)

Vol. 2, 1955 (THE DAY LINCOLN WAS SHOT, THE YEAR THE YANKEES LOST THE PENNANT)

Vol. 3, 1961 (THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY, THE MAKING OF THE PRESIDENT: 1960)

Vol. 3, 1965 (INTERN, parts of Michener's THE SOURCE, and NIGHT OF CAMP DAVID by Fletcher Knebel)

Patricia makes an outrageous statement at the dinner-table in her boarding-house, but then finds herself hard put to keep up the pretense.
The other boarders are drawn with a few quick, deft strokes and are entirely credible. The premise is original, the writing is smooth, the characters likable (or not), all of which results in an entertaining, amusing, easy-to-read story, filled with unexpected situations, resolved in imaginative ways. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as it ended as the reader might foresee, but with an amusing twist.

Delightful story, charming characters, good settings, believable conflicts and agonies...well written, good pacing, the inevitable happy end is reached after some tribulations...not too sweet, not too easy...good job! Perfect vacation fare!

You will be writing basic Spark jobs within a day or two.

I found out I would be working with Spark on an upcoming job so I picked up this book. I am an experienced SW dev and systems integrator and had already installed Spark and Python prior to getting this book. That being said, this book's methodical approach from the basic constructs to the more involved and specialized areas was very well done and organized in a logical progression (tho I did skip around a bit as I am not using AWS or SQL, for now). I was writing my own Spark jobs within a couple of days (using Python) using the Spark shell and stand alone Python scripts. You will of course be accessing the online Spark documentation and API reference documentation to augment your coding and understanding, but, I thought this was an excellent book to get up to speed in a very short time. This book is by no means comprehensive (there is no way any one book can be), but after working thru this book, I am very well prepared to branch out and move onto more advance Spark topics. Highly recommended if you are already involved with software (i.e. a techie), but new to Spark.

The book has covered a wide variety of topics on Spark and has good introductions on Hadoop HDFS and YARN. It serves as a comprehensive tutorial on all the important Spark concepts. I would have liked more advanced use cases and more tips on performance tuning.

About the Author

Martine Daniel was born in York in 1981. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a writer, and whilst at secondary school she would often be caught scribbling stories in the back of exercise books during lessons. Her dreams of seeing her name in print never dimmed, despite her life being turned upside down by episodes of mania, depression and psychosis during her late teens and early twenties.

In 2003 the pressures of a stressful job brought on an episode of psychotic mania, which led to the breakdown that ended her hopes of a career in bookselling, following which Martine was finally forced into contact with local mental health services. With the help of medication and the support of her family, she began to pick up the pieces of her life and started work on her first novel The Fire in Your Eyes (published 2009), juggling work on the novel with her studies with The Open University. Her second novel, Legacy of Lies, the sequel to The Fire in Your Eyes, and her third novel, Wading the Waters of my Mind, were both published in 2010.

Martine is a keen supporter of the Time to Change campaign and hopes that her writing can help to put an end to the stigma of mental illness.

Excellent Read! Explains the Illness Beautifully!

I must say I was taken aback regarding how excellent this book is. I'm the depressive type so not everything is going to apply to me, same as a Bi-Polar type. But everything was wonderful! I return to this book many times for repeated info and to help me explain to my family my illness. It's so simple and makes it such a simple concept. I HIGHLY recommend this Book!

This book definitely lives up to it's title. By making such complex material "simplified", the author has created a highly readable, easy-to-understand synopsis of this generally less understood mental illness and it's devastating effects on the lives of the people it touches as well as those who care about them. The short, logically written chapters highlight important clinical points about the disease's signs, symptoms and treatment in an easy-to-understand way. Each clinical section is complemented and brought to life by compelling first person accounts that draw us into the worlds of psychosis and mood malfunctions characteristic of this disorder. Overall I found this book to be highly readable as well as educational and therefore recommend it for all.

This book contains a lot of information but isn't very helpful because it doesn't have enough examples or illustrations. It is like reading the definition of a difficult word and still not knowing how to use the word in a sentence. There are few books that exist on the subject of restaurant marketing. This one offers some broad suggestions and I respect the background and experience of the author. However, I felt it was missing specific actionable advice and was also light on content with under 100 pages of written content.

I think the Author is very cocky and concieted

This book Isn't any good at all.He thinks he knows everything but yet knows nothing. He makes everyone do his dirty work and jobs for him... I wouldn't recommend anyone buying this book at all... I could find alot more things to do with the pages of this book than just read it, then wipe my rear end with the pages... This book should be taken off the shelves of every book store in America, Mexico.

One of the most highly recommended Books I've been told to read so far, and they were right.

I was curious about Paganism, Wicca, and the craft in general.
This is one of the better books out there as far as positive information about practices and utilizing the powers within the Earth and within us all.
Information on being one with the Earth, and your environment.
In my experience this is one of the most highly recommended books when it comes to all things "witchy".
Pretty much going back to our roots as human beings.
Our natural relationships with the Earth, Ourselves, and One another, and the literal power that holds. Things we've lost and forgotten over time.
You don't even need to be interested in Wicca to find this book useful. It's more-less about being more "natural". Maybe even more like a hippy than a witch or witchcraft, which basically all who don't practice black, or dark magick are.
The enlightened ones would benefit from reading this.

Clear, Understandable, & Fun to Read

This book is very informative. It helps understand much of the pagan and wicca beliefs. It clears up many of the negative ideas people have toward these ideas. It simply describes all the tools and background you need to start on your solo wicca journey. It's simply written & easy to understand. If you're interested in becoming wiccan, this is a great starting point here is fun to read. Grab a highlighter and get to educating yourself.

Firstly, I am completely new to Wicca. This book was actually recommended to me by several people who practice Wicca since I live in a rural area and really have to learn this religion by myself. So far, I have only read the first few sections but find myself engulfed already and in love!

I can not speak for the authenticity of the writing, because I am so new, there is no way for me to know if this book is a good place to start. But from reading other reviews and listening to those who recommended it to me, I am confident this was a good purchase.

I can however at least speak on the condition of the book I received. It arrived very quickly and in wonderful condition (pictures included in my review). The print is great and the book is definitely brand new. I was very happy this book included the author's own personal Book of Shadows. From what I understand, you should make your own Book of Shadows to fit your own needs/beliefs, but it is really helpful to have an example to get an idea of how you will want yours to be.

I can not wait to continue reading this book. I most likely will update my review after I finish to add more details if I feel it necessary.
